Nature has always been an important part of my life. Making the photographs of the nature is the source of tranquillity that makes me happy to be alive. When I take off on a photography trip, I tend to choose locations that are far from the city, untouched and unspoiled by human hand; places we wish would retain their virgin quality forever. Generally, in fact, they are ordinary, unexceptional places that would usually go un-remarked.And yet for anyone who spares the time, every seemingly ordinary part of nature can reveal captivating beauty at different moments of the same day and during different seasons And yet for anyone who spares the time, every seemingly ordinary part of nature can reveal captivating beauty at different moments of the same day and during different seasons. The key element in my photography is the quality of light. In general, I like to go back to the places I photograph in different seasons and weather conditions. The vibrant greens of spring, the boldly radiant colours of autumn or the graphic simplicity peculiar to winter; a racing sky, the product of suddenly changing weather conditions; a lightning streaked or dramatic sky before or after a storm; the mystique of a mist enshrouded day; the unadulterated purity of a covering of snow; or the hypnotic calm of an utterly still day… It is conditions like these that can transform what appears ordinary into an image of sheer beauty. It is, of course, impossible to preordain the weather conditions and the effects those conditions will have on appearances at the place you visit. In order to stumble on a moment like this – what could be termed a coalescence of elements - it is, therefore, imperative to return frequently and in all kinds of weather conditions. These days, when life drags us relentlessly in tow, I feel that turning to and reaching out to nature calms me, encourages me to slow down a little – to step back from the mad rush and pause for breath, be revived. I have been told on many occasions that my photographs whisper the same advice to others…
